Think About Taking These Courses to Get Started

The Associate in Applied Sciences Degree in Business Administration is designed for students seeking a broad program of study in all phases of business. Course work for this degree will help you become a better employee, own your own business, or transfer to a four-year college or university and earn a bachelor’s degree. This degree also offers college credit for your on-the-job experience.

You can begin earning your associate’s degree by taking one or more of the following courses

  • • BUSI 1301 – Introduction to Business: This course provides an introduction to business operations.  Topics include: the business system, legal forms of business, organization and management, business functions, and the environments affecting business.
  • • BUSI 2301 – Business Law: This course presents the legal principles affecting business decisions.  The law of contracts, agency, sales, negotiable instruments, and secured transactions are specifically covered.
  • • BUSI 1307– Personal Finance: (a recommended elective) Personal finance issues are explored. Topics include financial planning, insurance, budgeting, credit use, home ownership, savings investments, and tax problems.
  • • BMGT 1303 – Principles of Management: This course presents concepts, terminology, principles, theories, and issues in the field of management.
  • • HRPO 2307 – Organizational Behavior: The analysis and application of organizational theory, group dynamics, motivation theory, leadership concepts, and the integration of interdisciplinary concepts from the behavioral sciences.
