About the Professors:
Tom Henderson received his B.S. degree from the University of Illinois and his M.S. degree in Business Administration from Illinois State University. Tom has been active in real estate education for the last 32 years. He has taught various real estate courses at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois, Illinois Central College in Peoria Illinois and Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois.
Mr. Henderson co-founded the first real estate licensing program approved by the Illinois Real Estate Commission. He has done consulting work for both the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and American College Testing (ACT) in the capacity of a test writer and/or reviewer for various state real estate license exams prepared and administered by ETS and ACT.
In 1985, Tom served on a sub-committee for the Illinois Commissioner of Real Estate to re-write all of the course outlines for the state-approved real estate courses.
Tom owned and operated a real estate company in Illinois for nine years. The firm specialized in residential brokerage, valuation services, investment analysis, and consulting.
He has co-authored the following real estate books:

- • Real Estate Principles and Practices, 6th Edition, by Ficek, Henderson and Johnson. Prentice Hall.
- • Real Estate Finance by Johnson and Henderson. Merrill Publishing Company.
- • Illinois Supplement to Real Estate Principles and Practices by Henderson, Carlen, Kruse and Johnson. Merrill Publishing Company.
He is also co-author of a real estate investment analysis program called REAL EA$Y.
Tom is a past president of the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators (AIREE) and served on the committee to help write the by-laws for the National Association of Real Estate Educators.
He is an affiliate member of the Lake Cities Association of Realtors, and a lifetime member of the Texas Real Estate Teachers Association.
