Pre-eCampus: Review of specific PC skills (Optional)
Course Objective: Review PC skills through hands-on exercises that are necessary to know about prior to attending eCampus Level 1.
Topics: Building folders and directories; shortcuts in copying; cutting; pasting and saving documents; using the insert and delete commands; posting comments in the margins in responding to student assignments; other skills as requested by the class participants.
Basic:
Course Objectives: Prepare instructors to augment a classroom held on campus with eCampus components and/or create an online course.
Topics: Description and functions of eCampus; getting help; course requests/templates; logging on; personal information; managing a course (enrolling and dropping students, hiding a course, other options under settings); placement of documents; setting up folders; creating web-links, netiquette, basic ADA.
Intermediate:
Pre-requisite: Basic or *Waiver
Course Objectives: Prepare instructors to use the communication features in eCampus effectively and with the purpose of engaging students in an online environment.
Topics: User management, creating a quiz, understanding Grade Center, creating assignments, course cartridges, creating discussion boards, creating groups, blog/wikis, distance learning course approval form, peer to peer verification.
Advanced:
Pre-requisites: Basic, Intermediate, or *Waiver
Course Objectives: Prepare instructors to augment classroom instruction held on campus with eCampus components and/or create an online course.
Topics: Performance dashboard, course statistics, assessment, early warning system, export/import, ADA checklist.
Master:
Pre-requisites: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, or *Waiver
Note: Attendance is necessary and waivers are not given for this level.
Course Objectives: Prepare instructors to for the non-technical aspect of the online environment.
Topics: Course alignment, evidence based teaching, peer to peer organization, certification and cross-list meaning, diverse learning styles, disclosure documents, Pronto, soft skills.
