Honors Program

Scholarships

1. Eligibility: All current honors scholars who have maintained a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.5 or above, and are currently enrolled for at least 6 credit hours, are eligible for a scholarship at Richland. There are 10 such grants available each semester.

2. Applications: At the beginning of each semester (about two weeks into it) the Teaching Administrator of Honors makes contact with financial aid to determine the application period for the foundation scholarships. Letters are then sent to all active Honors Scholars informing them of this time slot. Students are to come by the Honors Office to obtain the appropriate applications. Students return these completed applications to the Honors Office. Financial Aid will then notify students when the checks are available.

3. Once the applications have been collected, each applicant's status and GPA is checked to confirm eligibility. The director writes a letter to Financial Aid for the who group recommending them for the scholarship and confirming their eligibility.
