Learning Communities are programs in which a cohort of students enrolls in two or more courses organized around a common theme, project or problem. The purpose of learning communities is to create a more integrated experience, to provide greater coherence in the curriculum, and to increase collaboration of students and faculty in the pursuit of learning.
The Combination of students from different backgrounds and faculty from different disciplines leads to a greater understanding of the diversity of knowledge. Students can become active rather than passive learners with guidance from the faculty team.
