Financial Aid

What else does the FAO offer?

Veteran's Benefits (VA):

Are awarded/certified on the basis of Veterans Administration eligibility criteria. Most VA benefits are established based on the veteran's participation/contribution to the program while on active duty. Additionally, Texas Veterans who have no remaining VA education benefits, may qualify for the Hazlewood Act. For more information, pick up a Trifold pamphlet in the Financial Aid office, or call the VA Representative at (972) 238-6935. Visit the Veteran's Affairs website.

TPEG-Continuing Education Grant:

Is available to students who are taking noncredit classes and qualify for financial aid. Not all classes are covered. TPGCE applications are available at the Financial Aid Office, Continuing Education registration counter and on the RLC TPEG website. For more information, visit the website at or http://www.rlc.dcccd.edu/finaid/TPEG.htm or come by the Financial Aid office.

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (CB) Exemptions and Waivers:

RLC participates in various CB administered tuition exemption and waiver programs for college students. The Early High School Graduate Scholarship program, the AFDC/TANF Exemption program and the Educational Aide Exemption program are a few examples. For more information about CB programs visit their web-site at http://www.thecb.state.tx.us/divisions/student/student.htm or call 1-800-242-3062.
