Richland Chronicle : Richland students publish the Chronicle student newspaper every two weeks during the fall and spring semesters in E-020. Students update the online edition when news happens. The Associated Collegiate Press recognized Richland Chronicle reporter and managing editor Michael Hernandez as its Reporter of the Year and the National College Media Convention in Dallas in November 2003. ACP recognized former Chronicle editors-in-chief Misty Dean and Marcia Abernathy as "Leaders of the Student Press" in 2004. ACP also recognized the Richland Chronicle as Second Place, Newspaper of the Year in 2003.

decoy magazine: Richland students publish the decoy magazine during the Winter Term and May Term mini-semesters to lampoon, spoof and sacrifice sacred cows in politics, society, culture and the media. The decoy stays on news stands for the entire fall and spring semesters.

Numerous state and national media organizations like Associated Collegiate Press, College Media Advisers, Collegiate Broadcasters Incorporated, Texas Associated Press Managing Editors, Texas Intercollegiate Press Association and Texas Community College Journalism Association regularly recognize the excellence of Richland student media with group and individual awards and scholarships.
