Library Research Classes

Library Classes Schedule

College Library Research classes for Fall 2008 begin on Sep.11 and end Nov. 1.
Plan to attend these free classes now. Attend all 3 classes and earn an Information Literacy Certificate. Print a schedule from the link above, or pick up a copy at the library reference desk.

Research 1: Introduction to College Research.
This class introduces students to the college library and to basic research strategy. A tour of the library is included.

Research 2: Electronic Research: Sources and Strategies.
Learn to locate information, periodical and newspaper articles in electronic databases available to Richland students. Learn to use the library's electronic catalog to search for books. Learn to identify quality Web sites.

Research 3: MLA - Avoiding Plagiarism and Documenting Sources.
Emphasis will be on using the latest edition of the MLA Handbook and avoiding plagiarism.
