Lab Services
• On-campus viewing of the video tapes for all Telecourses, Developmental Math classes, College Algebra, Trigonometry, Foreign Language classes, and other subjects.
• Off-campus rental (first come basis) of the video tapes for all Telecourses, several Foreign Language classes, DMAT 0090, DMAT 097, DMAT 0098, DMAT 0099, Algebra, Trigonometry, and other subjects. The lab has multiple copies of all videos available for in-lab use or off-campus rental. When all rental copies are out, in-house copies remain for viewing in the Lab, without charge. Students may rent 2 tapes for a period of 3 days.
There is a charge of $1 per tape for this service and overdue fines ($1 per day/per tape) do apply 7 days a week and holidays. A drop-box is located outside B218. Enrollment status and a student I.D. are required for video rental.• Free loaner videos/DVDs are available for students enrolled in Richland Telecourse (TV) or Telecourse Plus (TVP) courses. Students must be enrolled in one of the eligible courses to receive the media, and will need to show a copy of a "paid" fee receipt and a picture ID to check out media. Call the Media Center at 972-238-6094 to verify courses and availability of materials. Students may keep the free loaner materials for the semester. Borrowed items are due back to the Richland College Media Center five (5) days after course end date. Late fees are $1 per day/per item, charged 7 days per week and holidays. Students with non-returned materials or unpaid late fees will be blocked.
• Drop-in computers for e-mail, internet access and language software.
Priority given to Language and Distant Education students• Media Reserve video and audio tapes placed in the lab by faculty for student use, including video, audio and phonographic collection. All materials in these collections are for in-house use only.
• Also:
Foreign language videos, audios, print materials and computer programs for student use during their required weekly lab time.
Audio tape sets may be rented for some Language courses and purchased for others.
Books on audio tape, both Fiction and Non-fiction, are available for one week check-out. There is no charge.
Audio Tape duplication (24 hours for pick-up and are subject to Copyright restrictions.) We do not copy video tapes!
