Meeting & Event Managers work for corporations, associations, hotels, professional organizations, government, non-profit, religious organizations and are self employed as independent planners. On a daily basis, the Meeting & Event Manager may interact with various companies including: hotels, airlines, transportation, attractions, restaurants, decorators, general contractors, entertainment, audio-visual, convention centers, sports facilities and more.
Over the years the responsibility of the Meeting & Event Manager has increased. Today Meeting & Event Managers are expected to understand basic financial management, marketing and must be proficient in excel, word processing, power point and other software programs.
