Effective Immediately:
In order to streamline our processes and ensure compliance with the Department of Veteran Affairs. The RLC Financial Aid Office/VA has implemented a block on ALL students certified for VA benefits. If you are attempting to register, add or drop a course. Please contact the Financial Aid Office at 972-238-6188,972-238-3734, or 972-238- 6187 to request removal of the block for 24 hours. Complete your schedule changes and submit the Paid Registration Summary to the Financial Aid Office for certification by the VA Certifying Official.

Please Note: It is not necessary to see the VA rep for removal of the block.

New education benefits for Activated Reservists

There is a new education benefit available to certain reservists who were activated for at least 90 days after September 11, 2001. We call this benefit the "Reserve Educational Assistance Program" (REAP) or Chapter 1607.

You can request for Ch 1607 (REAP) benefits by completing a VA 22-1995 or VA 22-1990 and annotate the request in the remarks section then submit to your School VA Office. For more information about this program please go to the www.gibill.va.gov website.

News Flash! Public Law 109-461 adds a new group of persons who may be eligible for DEA benefits. Effective December 23, 2006 spouses and children of service members hospitalized or receiving outpatient care for a VA determined service-connected permanent and total disability may be eligible for DEA benefits. For more information see HERE.
