STRATEGIC PLANNING PRIORITIES FOR STUDENT LEARNING 1999-2004

PRIORITY#1 - RESPONSE TO COMMUNITY
We will respond to the learning needs of the diverse communities we serve by providing:

  • needs-driven programs and curricula
  • quality service
  • student- and customer-driven scheduling of classes and services
  • requisite human resources

through innovative internal and external partnerships and collaborations.

PRIORITY #2 - STUDENT SUCCESS
We will maintain a learning climate supporting student success through a core curriculum and learning outcomes preparing students to:

  • meet their stated educational goals
  • complete courses successfully
  • gain college-level skills through remediation
  • function in a diverse world community
  • function in technological environments
  • collaborate with others

PRIORITY #3 - EMPLOYEE SUCCESS
We will advance the success of all employees in a supportive learning climate to ensure skills in:

  • working with diversity
  • working in collaboration with others
  • integrating technology
  • developing common and specialized job requirements
  • providing service to students
  • providing service to customers

while assuring access to learning resources.

PRIORITY #4 - TECHNOLOGY
We will promote the purposeful and economical use of instructional and administrative technology by:

  • integrating technology into teaching, learning, and student support
  • planning for acquisition and maintenance
  • providing requisite human resources

PRIORITY #5 - INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
We will advance student learning through institutional effectiveness focusing on:

  • leadership
  • strategic planning
  • students and stakeholders
  • information and analysis
  • faculty and staff
  • educational and support process management
  • college performance results
